Mayton Fields
Jun. 9th, 2004 11:28 pmWTF?! Marshall Fields', formerly Dayton's, has just been bought out again... now it's called May's. Just got used to calling it Marshall Fields. For dumb.
Well... fun day today. We actually went out, first to Target, and then to the movie theater.
Where we saw "The Day After Tomorrow".
In a word, it was okay. The special effects were gorgeous, but the acting was really sub-par. It was odd, also, hearing Jake Gylenhaal (sp?) not tawking lahk Homer Hickham. The gal who played his girlfriend was kinda cute, but she got on my nerves, being so perfect and all. (Although, could she dress! Yowee.)
None of it was terribly great, but it had a couple of funny moments. I truly thought it was clever when Mexico closed its borders. Haha.
Anyway... I'm scared. We keep on eating dinner at the table and I keep on finding myself cooking over a stove. It's freaky as a mofo.
And I was thinking, in a lot of fandoms, fic writers when they tell what pairing their fic is use cute little terms to identify the characters. Gundam Wing uses 1x2 or whatever, and a lot of fandoms combine character names, like Cordano, Carby, Marsan, etc.
So, why doesn't M*A*S*H?
Anyhoo, from now on, instead of saying C/K for my OTP, I'm going to use either
Marles (which could be misinterpreted as Margaret/Charles... oops.)
or
Chaxie (Which I love.).
Which do you prefer? I'd make a poll but I Have No Paid Account. (No, that wasn't me begging for someone to buy me a paid account.)
(And y'know, Marles Chaxie would make a really cool character name.)
I don't know how you'd combine other names... uh... R/K could be... Ranger. XD Or... Klidar. I dunno. H/T could be Hawpper. (Ooh, I'm full of great ideas.) Hawk/Margaret could be Hawgret or Margeye. And I'm stopping now.
No, one more.
Hawk/Beej could be... B. Haw.
Really stopping now.

Date: 2004-06-10 05:20 am (UTC)I think you're right :) That is a cool name. Chaxie beates Marles though. For sheer cuteness of the word.
I've thought about this as well. Hawk/Trap... the only thing I've ever thought about calling them is PierceIntyre, because Henry actually calls them that in one episode. The B.Haw one... lol.

Date: 2004-06-10 09:07 am (UTC)As for R/K . . . agh. For a little bit I liked Klidar, but that was mostly because I misread it and thought it was Kildar. Like, Kill-dar. Sort of like gay-dar, only for murder. <_< Maybe Ringer? :P *cough* Anyhow. That's all.
