I got a letter in the mail today from Norm Coleman, preaching about the necessity for the war and how appreciative he was that I wrote to him.

"Wrote to him", of course, meaning "sent some form letter on an anti-war website to him 5 months ago". But it's kinda cool, because according to Ma it's actually signed in real ink by Norm Coleman and it's got an official US Senate letterhead. Not bad, I guess... but I still hate that man.

It reminds me of when I was in 3rd or 4th grade and some kid got a letter from Bill Clinton that he brought to Assembly and showed off. At the time I thought that was absolutely the most exciting thing in the world...

Well, I think I'm ready to talk about M*A*S*H today. Actually, I've been ready, but I just now thought to do it. Like I said, it was a really funny episode; maybe a wee bit fucked canonically but all in all not much badness.

It was the infamous "time capsule" one. Margaret and Hawkeye spent the whole episode fighting over what to put in the time capsule, and finally Hawk decided to make his own separate one since Margaret wanted it to be all meaningful and military. Bleh.

The weirdest shit I'd ever seen was this fucked up subplot where Igor was polishing this fake hand grenade and Rizzo wanted to borrow it. When he did, he went around terrorizing people with it I guess out of revenge? Got me.. but he went into the showers where BJ happened to be, and got him to scream and run away thinking it was real. Uh...? It was funny but the reason for it eluded me.

Then, he and Charles had some sort of falling-out in the mess tent, and later on he showed up in the Swamp and decided to apologize. Now, try and stay with me, because this part had me going WTF up the wazoo. Rizzo pulls out the hand grenade and Charles freaks out. Rizzo is laughing his head off, but then the pin comes out and I think (???) that Rizzo thought, oh shit it's real? I think. I was so confused I had no idea. So, Rizzo's like, oh crap, we're gonna die, and then (stay with me here) Charles screams, "Get out of here! Save yourself!" And throws himself on the grenade. Uh?!? Of course, it didn't go off and Charles is practically sobbing about how it's a miracle and stuff. Uhhhhh?!?!? Rizzo's all, how can I ever thank you, blah blah, and he says if Charles is ever in Baton Rouge, stop on by and his wife will make up a mess of the finest pigs feet that ever carried the pig. Gag. Anyway, it turned out to all be a prank, BJ exacting revenge and shit... but it was really confusing as hell at first. I mean, man. I don't even know.

Of course, we can't forget the appearance of Soon Lee... which was probably the best part of the episode because it's kind of fun to see Klinger actually.. like... being romantic and sympathetic and stuff. I was glad that he didn't suddenly turn into some Casanova or something, and a pivotal question presented to him was answered with "I guess so...". See, Soon Lee was accused of being a sniper and was being held so the MPs could come and interrogate her. For some reason, Klinger was with her all the time and being a total ass to her until Father Mulcahy came and talked to her about her parents. When she demanded that Klinger let her go so she can find them, and he says he can't, she throws her food at him. Heh. Anyway, it turns out she didn't do it and blah blah blah, so they go to where Father Mulcahy thought her parents were, but it turned out not to be them. Klinger was the sympathetic shoulder to cry on and at the end he was her date to the officers club. Okay, yeah... it is cute, and a canon pairing... but you can't blame me for being a LITTLE irritated that my favorite fanon pairing is an impossibility and I've seen the proof with my own eyes now.

That's why it's better, I guess, that I haven't seen the finale. If I haven't seen it, I can pretend it never happened. My fics all take place before the finale, anyway, so it's mostly irrelevant that I know what happens after the timeline I'm writing in. Ya know? I mean, season 10 is late enough...

Shit. I'm fucking tired again. This is so annoying... why can't I stay up....?! I haven't gotten jack-fucken-shit done the last few days, and it's irking me.

The thing with Charles and the dud grenade really freaked me out first time around too. It was spinning my whole view on Winchester: Charles has a death-wish! WTF! But it's funny when you realise what's going on. And the joke on BJ too is hilarious. Cruel but very funny.
