Jul. 12th, 2003 06:47 pmI have sort of a beef with the final season of M*A*S*H.. it's kind of on par with say.. Star Trek V and the final seasons of Designing Women as far as canon goes. Everybody's pretty OOC, there are messages but they're almost always eclipsed by the more prominent and well-written messages of the earlier seasons, and almost every episode is pretty frought with "WTF".
Okay, that said, tonight's episode was a fangirl's dream. The "main" portion was some stupid general who was all assholey and possessive of his injured son while the whole time he slept in this nice trailer and had people waiting on him hand and foot. The end was kinda jaw-dropping, because after the son died, the general ordered a bunch more people over to the same hill where the kid died.
BUT, the secondary plot... *drools* While Klinger was only in the episode for 3 seconds, there was some super Charles and Margaret cuteness. Allow me to elaborate! Margaret had this home perm because she was going to meet with this super prestigious doctor, who she was going around the OR bragging about (quite rudely, may I add!). Of course, the next day she got laryngitis and ran to Charles to try and figure out what could be done. He served as her interpreter on the phone and everything and then when she decided she couldn't go because she couldn't speak, he just out of the blue invited the doctor to come and see her in person under the impression that Margaret was standing right there and everything and it was her idea. Yes!!!! It was so incredibly sweet and unlike him, and at the end Margaret waltzed into the mess hall all dazed and ecstatic, and Charles nonchalantly asked how it went. She couldn't speak so she croaked for a second and then leapt into his arms and gave him this huge kiss. SQUEE!!!!! ;_; So beautiful!!
*dances around and around and around and...*
